What
is the time impact on an attorney?
The most immediate impact on an attorney is the process of filling out
timesheets. neveCPAonline™ provides timesheet forms and other necessary
forms for the process if you don't already have an established process
for collecting data in your office. neveCPAonline™ has found that timesheets
forwarded on a weekly basis work best for our input schedule and the timekeeper's
memory. The costs, payments and trust information need to be forwarded
at month end, then neveCPAonline™ prints the Work-in-Progress (WIP).
The attorney then edits the WIP and determines which cases to bill, then
forwards this information back to neveCPAonline™. Statements are then
printed and the attorney has final review of the bills before they are
mailed to the clients, which gives the attorney an opportunity to write
personal notes on his/her bills if he chooses. Lastly, the attorney
needs to forward the statements listing, marked with dates mailed, back
to neveCPAonline™ so the billing process can be finalized. |
Besides
timesheets, what other items need to be sent?
Cost sheets, payments sheets, trust deposits and trust disbursements --
all on a monthly basis. Timesheets are forwarded on a weekly basis.
Other items include initial information regarding timekeepers names, billing
rates, and any rate information regarding cases. If you want law
types tracked, that information will need to be included with each new
file opening. Each time you open a new billing file (case), we have
a New File Request form for you to fill out and forward to us -- this form
is usually forwarded on an on-going basis. |
| How
much time does the billing cycle take?
It takes approximately 6 to 10 hours a month, per attorney, to process
bills through an entire billing cycle. This includes timesheet entry
and report processing. |
Can
I enter my own time?
We do have several clients who have purchased a remote entry module for
our software, enter the time themselves, and forward the remote
batches to us via e-mail. Timeslips has
a product called Timeslips Remote that sells for $99.95. In addition, time
can be entered via your Internet browser or into your Palm or other PDA
device. If you're
interested in these options, we can send or fax the company brochures on
the products to you. |
How
much time will I save by entering my time?
The normal two hours of time we calculate for timesheet entry per full-time
timekeeper would be cut down to about 30-45 minutes. Our job changes
to downloading, printing batches, and then merging them into your database.
There are usually merging errors when file numbers are not found, which
need correcting. |
What
are neveCPAonline™' office hours?
We are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30pm, Eastern time.
If you reach our voice mail, be sure to leave a message, as the voice
mail is hooked to our pager system and wireless phones and we are notified of your call within
minutes. |
Do
you use abbreviations, macros or workcodes so timekeepers don't have to
write full phrases out?
Yes. See our Abbreviation/Workcode List for Time Entry by clicking here. |
Does
neveCPAonline™ perform conflict checks?
No, we do not. Conflict checking is the responsibility of the attorney
or firm. |
